Calisthenics is an artistic sport that is unique to Australia. The sport involves pupils performing a range of dance styles including gymnastics, marching, singing, ballet, folk and modern dance, as well as apparatus use. Calisthenics is a competitive sport and is performed on stage. Students from ages 3 and up will learn 4 or more routines (depending on age section) and perform them a number of times on stage throughout the year.
Calisthenics students learn a variety of different skills which will assist in both their physical and mental development. Students will not only learn a range of dancing and gymnastic skills, but they will develop basic life skills such as self confidence, teamwork and commitment.
Calisthenics is a great way to make new friends and get fit at the same time.
